Pilgrimage Itinerary

 

DAY 1. MON APRIL 09, 2018    DEPARTURE AUCKLAND /TEL AVIV   (MEALS ON BOARD)

Assemble at Auckland airport for your departure to Tel Aviv via Hongkong on Cathay Pacific.  Flight departure is 1.45 pm and we would advise that you are at the airport 3 hours before departure time.

 

DAY 2. TUE APRIL 10, 2018. ARRIVAL TEL AVIV - JERUSALEM   (BREAKFAST/DINNER)

Arrival in Ben Gurion International Airport.  Meet and greet by our Israel representatives.  Transfer to the hotel in Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.

 

DAY 3. WED APRIL 11, 2018. VISITATION CHURCH - BETHLEHEM - BASILICA OF THE NATIVITY   (BREAKFAST/DINNER)

Visit Ein Karem and the Church of Visitation. This is the place where Our Lady visited her cousin Elizabeth and the birthplace of St. John the Baptist. In the afternoon visit Bethlehem including the Basilica of the Nativity, the Shepherd’s Field, the Milk Grotto under the central altar we will walk by the Holy Manger, and the Silver Star with the Latin inscription "Hic de Maria Virgine Jesus Christus Natus est". There will be time for your own prayers and for shopping before you return to hotel in Jerusalem overnight.

Mass: Bethlehem Milk Grotto / Upper Chapel / Basilica at St Jerome

 

DAY 4. THU APRIL 12, 2018. NAZARETH – BASILICA OF THE ANNUNCIATION – CANA   (BREAKFAST/DINNER)

Visit Nazareth and celebrate Holy mass. We will pray in the Church of St. Joseph and the Basilica of the Annunciation. A walk through old Nazareth. We will continue to Cana the site of Jesus' first miracle. In this little town we will have the Renewal of the Marriage Vows and blessing of families. Overnight either in  Nazareth or Tiberias for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5. FRI APRIL 13, 2018. RIVER JORDAN – CAPERNAUM – TABGHA   (BREAKFAST/ST PETER’S FISH LUNCH/DINNER)

Visit the Jordan River, the same river that Jesus was baptized by Saint John the Baptist. You will have an opportunity to renew your baptismal vows. Then we will visit Capernaum, where Jesus lived. We can see the ruins of the synagogue where Jesus preached.  you will proceed to enjoy a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee before going to Tabgha, the site of the Multiplication of the loaves and fishes and the church of St. Peter's Primacy. Return to the hotel in Nazareth or Tiberias for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6. SAT APRIL 14, 2018. MOUNT OF BEATITUDES – CAESAREA PHILIPPI   (BREAKFAST/DINNER)

Visit the Mount of Beatitudes where we will celebrate  Mass after which we will  continue to Upper Galilee and Caesarea Philippi (Banias). Then we will continue to Caesarea Philippi which is also the site of Peter’s Confession, located on the southern slopes of Mount Hermon near the ancient city of Dan. It lies in the Wadi Banias, a beautiful area near the Jordan River. Return to the hotel in Nazareth / or Tiberias for dinner and overnight.

DAY 7. SUN APRIL 15, 2018. MOUNT TABOR – QUMRAN – DEAD SEA – JERUSALEM   (BREAKFAST/DINNER)

Visit Mount Tabor. We will take a short taxi drive up to the mountain to visit the Church of Transfiguration. Later you will drive through Judean Desert, passing by the Mount of Temptation. We will continue to Qumran, the place where Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Stop for “Dead sea” experience – float in the Dead Sea. (For Pilgrims wanting to ‘float’ on the Dead Sea please bring along your swinsuits.  Drive to Jerusalem hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 8. MON APRIL 16, 2018. JERUSALEM – MOUNT OF OLIVES   (BREAKFAST/DINNER)

Start the day on the Mount of Olives to visit the Ascension Chapel and the Pater Noster. View the Holy City from atop the Mount of Olives. Then we will walk down the Palm Sunday Road, the road Jesus followed on His way to Jerusalem. We stop at the Chapel of Dominus Flevit. We will continue to the Garden of Gethsemane and pray at the church of All Nations. At the end of the day you will visit the Church of Saint Peter Gallicantu, the church built on the site of the house of high priest Caiaphas. Return to Jerusalem hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 9. TUE APRIL 17, 2018. VIA DOLOROSA - POOL OF BETHESDA - HOLY SEPULCURE   (BREAKFAST/DINNER)

We will go to the Old City and follow the Stations of the Cross the Via Dolorosa, from Pilate’s fortress and Flagellation Chapel to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, site of Crucifixion and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Afrer  The Way Of The Cross we will visit and pray at the Pool of Bethesda and the Church of Saint Anne. In the afternoon there will be some free time for shopping in the Old Jerusalem market. Return to Jerusalem hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 10. WED APRIL 18, 2018. UPPER ROOM - CHURCH OF DORMITION - WESTERN WALL   (BREAKFAST/DINNER)

Visit the Upper Room where the Last Supper took place, and the church of Dormition where the Blessed Virgin Mary fell into Eternal Sleep. You will then go to the Temple Mount area with the Cardo Maximus, street from the Roman times and then end by the Western Wall of Solomon's Temple, with the Al Aqsa and the Dome of the Rock mosque above it.  Farewell dinner at the hotel in Jerusalem.

DAY 11. THU APRIL 19, 2018. DEPARTURE TEL AVIV HONGKONG   (BREAKFAST)

After breakfast time is at leisure until you are transferred to Ben Gurion airport for your departure home to Auckland via Hongkong.

 

DAY 12. THU APRIL 20 2018    HONGKONG/AUCKLAND   (MEALS ON YOUR OWN)

We arrive Hongkong in the early morning and as our flight back to Auckland will not depart until 9 pm we will have to stopover the whole day in Hongkong. We will take this opportunity to explore Hongkong  and return back to the airport later in the evening to board our flight to Auckland. This cost is not included in the Pilgrimage price . 

 

DAY 13. FRI APRIL 21 2018 ARRIVE AUCKLAND

We are home by mid day bringing with us many inspirations and blessings from Holy Land.
